Since 1974, Jorgensen has steadily grown in size and employs an average of 50 employees year-round with two office locations; the main office is located in Jackson, Wyoming, with a branch office in Pinedale, Wyoming.
The firm provides multi-discipline services including transportation, planning, water and wastewater, hydraulics and hydrology, geotechnical, construction administration, land use planning, and surveying to a vast array of public and private clients.

Position: Project Manager | Civil Engineering
Location: Jackson, WY or Pinedale, WY
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and/or construction management, or related field. A demonstrated ability to evaluate the technical requirements of major segments of a large and complex project; outline the tasks, manpower and equipment requirements; establish fees, scope and project budgets; and outline a project schedule. A demonstrated ability to manage a combination of professionals, technicians and administrative staff and direct their efficient utilization on projects. Valid driver’s license required.
Additional skills/abilities: Must have excellent judgement, leadership and communication skills. Requires well-developed organizational and communication skills and the ability to maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with engineering team and clients. Ability to understand essential engineering principles and practices. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of Senior Project Managers, this position will manage project teams of designers that deliver engineering solutions to our clients that are on time, within budget, and consistently exceed the clients’ expectations. The primary areas of responsibility are project design, project management, project delivery, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control. Project Management responsibilities include management of budgets, schedules, client relations, and project staff on multiple projects.

Position: Design Engineer | Civil Engineering
Location: Jackson, WY or Pinedale, WY
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. Two to four years post-graduate experience in civil engineering or a Master’s Degree and typically one to three years post-graduate experience. Demonstrated competency in at least one discipline practiced by firm. Complete working knowledge of AutoCAD and Windows-based applications required. Must be at least Certified Fundamentals of Engineering; Registered Professional Engineer preferred but not required. Valid driver’s license required.
Additional skills/abilities: Ability to write technical reports and correspondence. Ability to make technical-based engineering calculations. Regularly demonstrates effective communication with other team members. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Position Summary:
This is an entry-level or mid-level position. Perform engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives. Apply standard civil engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks involving conventional types of plans, surveys, investigations, structures or equipment; also assist in various phases of major projects. Decisions are routine and are reviewed for the application of established project standards or project instructions. Responsible for designing specific system components for the overall design effort. Perform calculations, prepare equipment or material specifications, with the potential to provide minimal guidance to other designers, drafters and engineers. Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables; assistance from senior technical staff provided as requested. Develop judgement in handling the variety of technical and non-technical considerations in project work.

Position: Design Engineer | Structural Engineering
Location: Jackson, WY or Pinedale, WY
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. FE and registration as an EIT preferred, with intent to pursue professional licensure. Good analytical and organizational skills. Basic understanding of and willingness to learn computer skills in AutoCAD and other Windows-based engineering & surveying applications. Some professional, practical work experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to learn the basics of design and analysis within one of the major technical disciplines practiced by the firm. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, teammates and clients. Possession of valid driver’s license.
Position Summary:
This is an entry- or mid-level position. Assist senior-level engineers in the execution of routine technical activities required on assigned projects using standard procedures. Apply prescribed methods to complete limited and specific portions of a broader assignment for an experienced engineer. Position: Project Surveyor | Surveying
Location: Jackson, WY or Pinedale, WY
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying from an accredited four-year college or university. Four years post-graduate experience in land surveying, including supervisory experience, or a Master’s Degree and typically three to six years post-graduate experience. Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor. Thorough knowledge of effective legal practices, methods, techniques, and equipment of land surveying. Considerable local knowledge of plats, plans, maps, deeds, and local geography. Complete working knowledge of AutoCAD, Windows-based applications, and surveying software as appropriate. Must have excellent judgement, leadership, and communication skills. Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of senior surveying staff, this position will manage project teams and perform responsible surveying work that deliver surveying solutions to our clients on time, within budget, and which consistently exceed the clients’ expectations. Responsible for all aspects of project work, including but not limited to: project management, project scope, determining methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control, preliminary research, and ensuring Quality Assurance/Quality Control. Responsible to ensure accurate notes, records, and sketches are produced to describe and certify work performed, as well as prepare and maintain a variety of technical records and write reports of a complex technical nature. Assume statutory responsibility for work performed.

Position: Construction Technician | Construction Engineering
Location: Jackson, WY or Pinedale, WY
Qualifications:
Associates’ Degree in Engineering Technology or Construction Management, or 2 years’ experience in construction coordination/management and/or testing. Knowledge of construction methods and materials; ability to read and interpret blueprints. ACI and Radiation Safety Certification preferred. Possession of valid driver’s license.
Skills/Abilities: Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and contractors. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Position Summary:
This position will perform testing, monitoring, inspections, and QA/QC on a variety of projects. Work is both indoors & in the field. With supervision, perform periodic field inspections of discrete portions of projects both prior to and during construction to determine compliance with approved plans and specifications. Perform quality assurance testing of materials for projects, both internal and external to firm, to verify compliance with the plans and specifications. Other responsibilities include: assist in maintaining the materials testing laboratory, responsible for monitoring lab equipment and supplies, reporting on lab usage. Assist in maintaining uniform field and laboratory testing procedures; occasionally assist in field surveying.
