
Position Summary
Jorgensen seeks an experienced Transportation/Traffic engineer to join our growing team and help the rubber meet the road! As a key part of the Jorgensen team, this Transportation Project Engineer will provide traffic and transportation planning technical support and guidance to our internal departments, our clients, and our communities. Areas of expertise include traffic design, roadway design, transportation analysis and modeling, study development, and other engineering related services. This position will also guide production of or produce documents, reports, studies, and project-associated material as needed.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in traffic engineering principles, DOT policies, and state and federal standards, such as the MUTCD and AASHTO design guides. Effective written and oral communication, presentation skills for the public and private sectors, and organizational and analytical skills. Ability to work with personnel within WYDOT, state and local governments, clients and team members to obtain approval of proposed plans.
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
- traffic engineering analysis, traffic impact study development, signalization, research of design criteria based on location and scope, development of roadway layouts and infrastructure design using Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
- traffic analysis and modeling with software such as HCS, synchronization software, and familiarity with big data.
- multi-modal systems.
- development of traffic technical drawings and reports and making applicable revisions.
Education & experience requirements
At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. Engineer in Training (EIT) license or Professional Engineer (PE) required.
0-10 years of progressive work experience (in civil engineering) with acquired knowledge in the traffic and transportation fields. Valid driver’s license required. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
