Description

Under the supervision of Senior Project Managers, this position will manage project teams of designers that deliver engineering solutions to our clients that are on time, within budget, and consistently exceed the clients’ expectations. The primary areas of responsibility are project design, project management, project delivery, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control. Project Management responsibilities include management of budgets, schedules, client relations, and project staff on multiple projects.

Applicants with significant project management experience may be considered for the position of Senior Project Manager, as well.

Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. Good analytical and organizational skills. Basic understanding of and willingness to learn computer skills in AutoCAD and other Windows-based engineering & surveying applications. Possession of valid driver’s license. Demonstrated experience in civil engineering design and/or construction management, or related field. A demonstrated ability to evaluate the technical requirements of major segments of a large and complex project; outline the tasks, manpower and equipment requirements; establish fees, scope and project budgets; and outline a project schedule. A demonstrated ability to manage a combination of professionals, technicians and administrative staff and direct their efficient utilization on projects. Valid driver’s license required.


Additional skills/abilities:  Must have excellent judgement, leadership and communication skills. Requires well-developed organizational and communication skills and the ability to maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with engineering team and clients. Ability to understand essential engineering principles and practices. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.

Skills/Abilities: FE/EI preferred. Some professional, practical work experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to learn the basics of design and analysis within one of the major technical disciplines practiced by the firm. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
