Description
Assist senior-level engineers in analysis and design related to shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, seepage, bearing capacity, settlement, earth retention, and earthen embankment dams. Perform field work such as construction observation, subsurface investigations, materials testing, and inspections during construction. Record detailed geotechnical subsurface exploration data according to the firm’s standard procedures. Assist the geotechnical team in performing engineering analyses and in the preparation of technical memoranda and geotechnical engineering reports. Production of deliverables is expected to be on time, within budget, and of the highest quality, in accordance with firm standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering preferred. Good analytical and organizational skills. Some professional, practical work experience preferred. Beginning to intermediate level computer skills in AutoCAD and Windows-based applications preferred. FE and registration as an EI preferred; eagerness to pursue professional licensure. Demonstrated ability to learn the basics of geotechnical design and analysis. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Possession of valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 20% of time.
