Description

Under direct supervision of Project Managers, prepare computer-aided drafting and design related to land surveying, water rights and engineering projects. Assist in the preparation of maps, plats, applications, and petitions that accompany land use projects and subdivision and water rights submittals. Design and prepare exhibits for legal descriptions. Research record data relative to restrictions, deeds, easements, covenants and agreements pertinent to property boundaries and land use projects. Process raw data from field surveys. Ensure that drafting is of the highest quality and organized in accordance with firm standards. Assist in the filing and maintenance of all completed drawings and documents. 

Requirements

Minimum requirements: High school diploma (or GED) with at least one year experience working with AutoCAD and/or one year experience as a field surveyor.

Preferred requirements: An Associates degree in engineering technology, computer-aided drafting, or other related field plus two years related experience, or a minimum of four years specialized experience in AutoCAD or related field. Working knowledge of geodatabases and ArcInfo or Mapinfo programs preferred. Basic understanding of geospatial data and GPS/GIS.

Skills/Abilities: Computer literate in Windows & Microsoft applications with ability to troubleshoot basic problems. Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills and attention to details. Must be able to react to change productively and manage one’s own time, balance and prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
